Our Story

CafeKind was born in San Francisco in 2015, out of a simple but deeply felt belief: that no woman should have to navigate life’s hardest moments alone.

Our founder, Adriana Medeiros, is a trauma-informed therapist and clinical director who had seen firsthand what isolation does to women in transition. Women who had moved countries, rebuilt careers, left relationships, or found themselves somewhere new and uncertain, without the community around them that makes those moments bearable. She wanted to do something about that.

The name says it all. CafeKind was designed to feel like a place, warm, welcoming, and unhurried. Somewhere women could sit down, share their stories, and find that someone else understood. What started as a networking and support space in Silicon Valley quickly became a community filled with compassion at its core.

In the years since, CafeKind has grown and evolved, shaped by the women who have walked through our doors and the needs they have brought with them. Today, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering four core programs designed to support women holistically, at every stage of their journey.

Our Mental Health programs provide a safe space to process, heal, and build emotional resilience through support groups and psychoeducation. Personal Growth invites women to explore who they are and who they want to become, through our Cafe Book Club, community service, and guided life purpose work. Sharing Circles bring women together around focused topics to tell their stories, be heard without judgment, and find solidarity in shared experience. And our Career Development program offers one-on-one coaching, job search support, and financial literacy education to help women build the careers and lives they deserve.

We still believe what Adriana believed in 2015: that kindness, community, and the courage to share your story can change a life. We have seen it happen, again and again.

If you are ready to find your people, we would love to meet you.
